Every year in the first lunar month of 20-23rd, the Temples organize their annual Chingay known as the Parade of Deities. It is also know as part of the Chinese New Year festivities. All the devotees will then lift their respective deities for the night parade, this will be accompanied by troupes of opera characters,lion-dancers, dragon dancers, decorated floats, acrobats,stilt-walkers, big-headed dolls,giant flags to entertain the town-folks who by then will line along the entire route eagerly.

A significant entertainment that cannot be left out during Chingay. Bai Tian Gong (拜天公) literally means praying to the Jade Emperor. The worship of the Jade Emperor, or bai tian gong takes place at the strike of midnight of the 9th day of the Chinese New Year. Mainly practiced by Hokkiens.

Thaipusam is a Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Murugan (Kartikeya) celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (January/February). Murugan is the Hindu god of war and victory. Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam Temple in Johor Bahru is the best spot to observe the Thaipusam festival. On the day of the festival, devotees will shave their heads and undertake a pilgrimage along a set route while engaging in various acts of devotion, notably carrying various types of kavadi (burdens). Aspect of the festival is “mortification of the flesh” and this is performed by piercings of the skin, tongue and cheeks. Mount Austin- 31 Dec of every years , there will be new year countdown at this place. Everyone around this area will gather at here and prepare to celebrate the arrival of new year. There will be performances and entertainments carried out here.

World Kite Festival 2015 in Pasir Gudang , said to be the largest in Asia. Kite enthusiasts from all over the world gather at this annual event and they certainly take their kite-making and kite-flying activities.

Last year, 180 kite-flyers from 25 countries took part, all wanting to show off their latest creations and kite-flying technology! It was great seeing all the amazing variety of kites while we enjoy kite-flying demonstrations, displays as well as an assortment of food.
